Legal Funding Breakdown

We’re committed to ensuring transparency around all funds raised. Your contributions are crucial to covering the legal expenses necessary to protect Biddeford’s natural spaces and hold our city accountable for responsible land use practices. Here’s how your support directly contributes:

• Superior Court Expenses: We have an outstanding balance of $8,000 for the recent Superior Court case, which we’re working to cover through donations. If this goal isn’t met, we will personally cover any remaining amount to ensure these expenses are paid.
• Appeal to Maine Supreme Judicial Court: Donations beyond the initial $8,000 target will go entirely toward the anticipated legal costs for the appeal, including $1,000 for the Notice of Appeal. This fundraising will support the full cost of the appeal, offered at a rate of $17,000 for a limited-scope appeal or $26,000 for a full-scope appeal. The appeal will focus on critical issues such as eminent domain and procedural errors that threaten our local environment.
